Madison, CT, 2014

I’ve always wanted to read at R.J. Julia, a wonderful bookstore. Finally, thanks to Goodspeed Musicals, I had my chance.

I took this picture before the event. I think about 50 people showed up.

I read a little from “Jennie Dixianna,” and then Ben played “Never Alone,” my favorite song from the show. And then we talked about where the story came from, where the song came from, and about each of our creative processes.

I’m not surprised that Ben and I have a similar process. I’ve never actually asked him questions like, “Where did you get that lyric?” and finally, I got some answers.

I hope we have other opportunities to have that discussion.
