One of my prized possessions is a Route Book for the Great Wallace Show in 1899.
It belonged to my great-great uncle, the elephant trainer who inspired The Circus in Winter.
Typically a route book is a list of cities visited. Dates played. Miles traveled. Number of railroads used.
But I measure my time on the road in terms of people I meet.
